Body Balance Health and Fitness Standards of Safety

Body Balance welcomes you to train safely, beginning June 1, at our socially distanced and sanitized outdoor work stations. Our first priority is safety, and we’ve developed a way to stay safe and offer personal training, in person! Please join us!

The safety of our health and fitness community will always be our top priority, and we’re even more focused on it now. We’ve made changes to how we operate—all designed to keep our clients and staff safe. Here are the changes you can expect.

Our Heightened Deep-Cleaning Process

More Frequent Disinfecting and Cleaning

Staff will use a disinfectant proven to kill viruses like COVID-19 in all common areas before and after sessions—with heightened attention to health and fitness equipment, weights, and all high-touch surfaces. We’ll also be cleaning the fitness area outside and the indoor studios from top to bottom often daily. Step-pedal trash bins are available.

Disinfecting High-Touch Surfaces

After every client session, we’ll disinfect doorknobs, handles, light switches, sanitizing stations, bathrooms, sinks, toilets, the front desk, keyboards, computers, phones, and equipment.

All Weights Disinfected

After every client session, all fitness equipment and weights will be thoroughly disinfected—even if they weren’t used.

BB Staff Face Masks and Gloves

BB staff will wear masks during their shift and strongly encouraged to wear gloves. After deep cleaning, they’ll wash their hands before using new gloves and masks as needed.

Coming Soon: 59S UV Light Sanitizer Wand

The 59S UV-light wand can kill up to 99.9 percent of bacteria and germs in three minutes.

Before Your Session

BB Staff Health Check

Every BB staff member will have their temperature checked before their session. When necessary, we’ll follow our elevated temperature protocol.

Client Health Check

We’ll check the temperature of each client before their health and fitness session with a no-touch thermal temperature scan. The CDC defines a fever as a temperature of 100.4 degrees Fahrenheit. Should your temperature be 100.4 degrees Fahrenheit or above, please stay home. We will credit your session.

Health Declarations

Before entering the BB studio and/or outdoor fitness area, we’re asking all clients to sign a Health Declaration stating that you agree to the health and safety parameters put in place by our governments. You’ll also be able to do this by email before checking in.

High-Touch Amenities

To limit hand-to-hand contact, we’re leaving entry doors open to BB. If you need to use our restroom facilities or go inside a fitness studio, we will be cleaning immediately after use.

Staff Hospitality and Safety

Your BB staff is here to help, from a safe distance.

Social Distancing Practices

Our BB staff will work to get clients in and out efficiently, while maintaining social distancing practices. To help, dividers will indicate a safe distance outside and in. We ask that you avoid waiting for your sessions in high traffic areas and consider waiting outside or in your car if you’re comfortable there and weather permits.

Personal Health and Fitness Cabanas

We are providing each client a space that is 18 feet apart from others; social distancing at its best. That’s over 160 square feet per person for your very own personal training reserved spot. Each space, outside under our awning, is divided by a sail cloth. Spaces in the parking lot are divided by cones.

Personal Items

Due to COVID-19, we highly suggest bringing your own water, towel, mat, and if needed, weights. Of course, BB has all equipment on hand within the studio if needed.

Client Responsibility: Keeping Each Other Safe

We’ve put a lot of changes in place—with details beyond what you see here. The way our new safety process will be most effective is if we all make sure to do our part in it. Aside from respecting the safety guidelines put in place by our governments, we ask that any client coming to our BB studio walks in with the approach our clients take for most things: go above and beyond for each other. Please make sure to practice social distancing. Follow the markers placed inside and outside our BB studio to maintain a safe distance. If you have a cough, fever, or symptoms of COVID-19, please do not come to our BB studio until you’re symptom-free and fever-free for at least three days. If you have tested positive for COVID-19 or have knowingly come into close contact with someone who has, we ask that you do not come to the studio for 14 days or until you’ve tested negative for COVID-19. If you feel unwell or have any concerns about coming in for your session, please stay home and stay safe. We’ll happily add the session back to your account and welcome you back when you’re healthy and feel comfortable coming back. We’re encouraging our health and fitness clients and BB staff to have no person-to-person contact, including hugs and high fives. Community and love is in our DNA—but right now, this is the best way to take care of our BB tribe. It might be a bit overwhelming at first. But trust us: As soon as that first session starts, you’ll find yourself in that familiar place you know and love. That sanctuary you’ve been needing now more than ever is safe—and we can’t wait to welcome you back.

Moving Forward, We’re Continuing to Monitor the Situation

While we’re taking every precaution to keep our community safe (and encourage you to do the same), we’re acutely aware of and highly prepared for the possibility of a second wave. In the event that there is a reported case of COVID-19 in our BB studio and you were potentially in contact with the individual, you’ll be notified immediately. From there, we’ll take the proper safety precautions to disinfect our BB studio from top to bottom. With no way to predict what will happen, the best way we can prepare is to respond and evolve as the situation develops—with nothing but your safety in mind. Whether you plan to join us in our BB studio, or feel more comfortable staying home with virtual training, we’re here for you. If you
have questions or concerns about our approach to keeping our health and fitness community safe, please contact us.
