During the pandemic, I was walking by the Body Balance fitness studio in Pleasanton when I bumped into Kristi, one of the owners. They greeted me and gave me a tour of the studio.

When I started at Body Balance, I weighed 255 pounds and was out of shape. After twelve months of training with John Perez, the other owner and personal fitness trainer, I lost 95 pounds. My main concern was losing muscle mass, so John designed a fitness program that addressed weight loss, but also helped me regain muscle mass. John’s resistance training program helped me build muscle and feel so strong! “Getting older isn’t about resting and relaxing,” I realized. It’s about recovering the strength and agility I once had.

I was referred to Body Balance by my cardiologist. John, of course, wanted to test my fitness. “No need to do that, at age 82, I am a life long athlete,” I said. Well,…I wasn’t as fit as I thought after testing, surprising and a bit disappointing. But John’s evaluation was correct. John has his professional credentials posted on a wall, just like a doctor’s office. He an excellent therapist, enthusiastic and very knowledgeable.
